Science fair...

This year for the science fair Katelyn decided (last minute) to do the "Mold in a moist chamber" experiment!! So she took three types of bread we some paper towels put them in plastic bags, zipped them closed and set out to watch the mold grow and grow.

Mind you we only had exactly one week to do this project because we never got the proper paperwork from school and Katelyn never mentioned it to us that it was coming up due!! So, We were banking on the fact that the internet was correct and we would start to see the mold growth within 3-5 days! She used homemade white bread, store bought white and wheat.
She notice mold on the towels after the third day but no mold on the bread until the fifth day!
It was really nasty though!!

She learned all about preservatives and how the moisture affects food.
She earned her "participation ribbon" but has yet to present her project to the class so we are not sure what grade she will get yet.

It was a lot of fun going to the school to see all the kids projects! Some very cool things on display!

Jacobs Second grade class did a test to see if the children could tell the difference in soda's that were not labeled, AFTER they had reported on which one they liked the best!
Most kids could not find the soda they had picked!! Jacob said he likes Pepsi best but thought the coke was pepsi when he tasted them!!
It was a very cute test!!
